He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth D. Shuey and Pearl F. Shuey (Sterner); his daughter Paige Alexandria Shuey; his brother Rev. Bernard L. Shuey; and his brother-in-law Barry Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie (Thomas); his children, Michelle Cole (Michael), LeeAnn Lemoine (Bill), Danielle Hartman (Eric), Jessica Woodhead (Jeremy), Noah Shuey (Brenna), Jacob Shuey, Tiffany Shuey and Jackson Shuey; his grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, Caleb, Bailey, Abigal, Aidan, Brady and Eve; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Shuey, Beth Smith (Dan) and Laurie Thomas. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Gary's memory to Project Share the Joy at 248 Trees Mill Road, Greensburg, PA 15601. Project Share the Joy is a charity that Gary held close to his heart.
