He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Ellen M Payne (Porter); his daughters, Jennifer Stearn (Peter Rome), Kristie Blandford (Chris) and BethDiehl (Ted); his grandchildren, Christopher, Sean, Abigail, Caitlyn and Kyle; his former wife Karen Payne; his parents, John Payne and Catherine Payne (McGeady); his sisters, Patricia Lorenzo, Penny Pezzano and Catherine Mary Walsh-Freda; and his siblings-in-law, Gary Porter, Jacqui, Julanne Gibat (Porter), Craig, Mary Arkiszewski (Porter), Roman and Beth Kolesar (Porter). He was also cherished by his wife, daughters, grandchildren and extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to the Brain Tumor Lab Support Fund at Penn Medicine.
