He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Pekar and Julia Pekar (Shepp); his former wife Dorothy J. Pekar (Steel); and his siblings, Joseph, John Pekar, Mary Jane Stravasnik and Josephine Lloyd.
He is survived by: his wife Roberta J. "Bert" Pekar; his children, Charles M. Pekar (Nancy) of Irwin and Cindy Neil (John) of Shaler Township; his stepchildren, Patric Ankrom, Eric Ankrom (Kelly) and Tamela Grey (Robert); his grandchildren, Michelle Minkel (Joseph), Jennifer Kelly (Stephen), Curtis Neil (Stasia) and Andrew Neil (Kaelyn); his stepgrandchildren, Ernest, McKinzie, Mason, Madeline Ankrom, Alexandria and Rachel Grey; and his great grandchildren, Noah Kelly, Lena and Brendan Neil. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
