He was predeceased by: his parents, Howell Shamer and Ella Shamer (Hoffman); and his siblings, Genie, Buzzy, Janet, Darlene and Delores.
He is survived by: his granddaughter-in-law Danielle; his wife Shirley; his siblings, Ralph Shamer and Nila Wentz; his daughter Teresa (Douglas Keith, Sr.); his grandsons, Douglas Keith, Jr. (Danielle), Wayne Keith (Amanda) and Edward Yingling; his foster sons, Randy Ritter (Cheryl) and Richard Gotwalt (Melissa); his pet Daisy Mae; his great grandchildren, Clayton, Keith, Adalyn, Fiona and Yingling; and also Kendra.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Violet Hill United Methodist Church or Marine Toys for Tots will honor his memory and passions.
