He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Carpenter and Florence Carpenter (DeWitt); and his siblings, Carol Speck, Eleanor Carpenter, Gustava Oberhouse, Martha Yalch, Esther Ross, Gregory, William, Richard and John Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Carpenter (Luthy); his children, Michael, Joel, Maria Wolf (Robert), Julie Stallings (Eric), Carolyn Bartczak (Michal) and Carissa Sheehan (Thomas); and his sister Mary Vincent.
