He was predeceased by: his father Roy Gittings; and his grandparents, Carl, Jean Lantzy, Harry and Kathleen Gittings.
He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Westrick Gittings; his children, Harlie Gittings, Levi Gittings (Kamryn), Caleb Gittings, Brionna Szalkowski and Alex Szalkowski; his mother Carol Mears (Kerry); and his siblings, Gerard Gittings (Alyse), Aaron Gittings (Amanda) and Samantha Gittings (Brandon). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
