He was predeceased by: his parents, Angelo Vitale and Maria Vitale (Pannazzo) of Vitale's Hotel Central; his son Richard Anthony Vitale; his wife Evelyn Patricia Vitale (Buggey); his brother-in-law Richard Holt; and his siblings, Elinor, Viola, Anna, Robert, Thomas, Mary and James.
He is survived by: his brother William Vitale; his sister-in-law Barbara Holt (Buggey); his son Robert Eugene Vitale (Jacqueline Geiger); his grandson Douglas Angelo Vitale; his granddaughter-in-law Lesley Vitale (Seelhorst); and his great grandchildren, Natalie Vitale and Dylan Robinson.
