It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Freda D. Barnes of Indiana, Pennsylvania, born in Martinsburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 1, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ross Anthony and Daisy Belle Detwiler (Beegle); her daughter-in-law Cindy Barnes; and her siblings, Kenneth R., Charles E., Norman E. "Patrick", Samuel E. Detwiler, Rosella E. Haney, Lethian D. Haney and Leanor C. Yingling.

She is survived by: her husband Richard G. Barnes; her son Dr. Richard L. "Rick" Barnes of Indiana; her grandsons, Matthew Barnes (Allyson) of Fletcher, NC and Thomas Barnes of Indiana, PA; and her great grandchildren, Garrett and Aaron Barnes.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Freda may be given to St. John's United Church of Christ, 117 E. Julian St., Martinsburg, PA 16662.
