He is survived by: his wife Karen Shaffer (Bark); his children, LuAnn S. Talley (Kevan), Susan J. Strittmatter (William), Robin A. Patterson (Dennis) and Erica J. Ackerson (Robert); his stepchildren, Christina Battick (Richard) and Justin L. Beers; his sister Thelma Mae Roberts (Jack); and his half-siblings, Wallace Shaffer (Mary) and Lydia Work (Richard).
