He is survived by: his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph, Jacob, Emily, Jonathan, Cannon and Jake; his stepgrandson Dominic; his wife Galena Malcolm of Granbury, Texas; his children, Kristina Korte (Craig) of Sonora, California, Scott Malcolm (Shea) of Murrieta, California and Amy Takagaki (Jason) of Monterey, California.; and his sister Nancy Kovacs of Charlotte.

Contributions in his memory may be to Waples Baptist Church.
