With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty L. Schurg Gales (Indian Head, Pennsylvania), born in Melcroft, Pennsylvania, who passed away on November 30, 2019 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Schurg and Ina V. Wolford Schurg; and her siblings, Laura B. Schurg, Mary White, Anna Mae Peck, Madge Laurella, Frances Richter, Elsie Johnson, Jean Daugherty, Norman and Clyde Schurg.

She is survived by: her husband Max Gales; her children, Sherry Witt (Kerry) of Indian Head, Jeff Gales of Mt. Pleasant and Jerry Gales (Bonnie) of Indian Head; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Monticue (Alex) of Ligonier, Addie Witt of Newark, OH., Zachary Witt (MacKenzie) of Indian Head, Cameron Goodwin of Indian Head, Tiffany Gales of Indian Head and Jerry Gales of Indian Head; and her sister Dolores Knox of Baldwin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
