He was predeceased by: his wife Norma L. Shaffer (Lowery); his siblings, Mick, Ted, Jack, Pete Shaffer, Jeanne Lohr, Mary Jane Elder, Joanne Gaumer and Irene Hillegass; his sons-in-law, Lester Lafferty and Owen Lucas; and his grandsons, Michael and Matthew Lafferty.
He is survived by: his children, Yvette Witt of Yorktown, VA, Rhonda Lafferty, Deborah Grose (Jackie) of Sevierville, TN, Kenneth Shaffer (Diane), Catherine Lucas and Ashley Shaffer (Kelcy) of Olympia, WA.; and his grandchildren, Amber Millerleile Brian Witt (Steven), Andrew Grose, Christopher Grose (Shannon), David Shaffer (Suzanne), Daniel Shaffer (Melissa), Angela Simpson (Philip), Sarah Davis (Paul), Joshua Griffiths (Amber), Jason Griffiths, Justin Griffiths, Mary Lucas and James Shaffer. He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
