She was predeceased by: her father George Merkel; her husband Ray A. Custer; and her siblings, Victor, Dewey, Harry, Darris, Lee, Donald Merkel, Helen Nair, Jean Deitz, Doris Merkel, Beverly Merkel, Shirley Emerick and Betty Huffman.
She is survived by: her mother Hulda Merkel (Richardson); her children, Margaret Kesner, Romney, Donna Landis, Grant Custer (Janet), Harmon Custer (Debbie), Berlin, Patty Weir Lonaconing (David), Robert Custer (Renee) and Barbara Morgart (Kenny); her brother John Deremer of Warren, OH; her grandchildren, Pamela Kesner, Mary Arnie, John Landis, Robert Custer Jr., Mitchell Custer, Rachel Custer, David Custer, Jennifer Geatz, Justin Custer, Rebecca Custer, Robin Custer, Joshua Morgart, Bobbie Jo Getson, Michael Rhyder and Jennifer Rhyder; and her great great grandchild Hunter. She is also survived by 28 great grandchildren.
