He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert L. Knepp and Nellie I. Knepp (McCoy); his wife Margaret E. (Faulkner); and his sister Joann M. Stiner. He is survived by: his daughter Constance M. Pelton of Harrisburg; his grandchildren, Gary D. Pelton Jr. (Rebecca C.) and Nanette C. Pelton of Clearfield; and his great grandchildren, Trey Pelton (Sarah), Erin Pelton, Steven Frank and Gabrielle Frank.
