He was predeceased by: his parents, Hattie May (Hoeflick) and Daniel W. Carbaugh. He is survived by: his children, Phillip W. Carbaugh (Cynthia) of Chambersburg, PA, Edward E. Carbaugh (Brenda) of Little Cove, PA, Sherry L. Hershey (Steve) of Greencastle, PA, Deborah R. Strait (Art) of Hustontown, PA, Steve L. Carbaugh (Karen) of Greencastle, PA, Daniel R. Carbaugh (Cheryl) of Mercersburg, PA, Pamela M. Mong (Brian) of Greencastle, PA and Robert H. Carbaugh (Laura) of Mercersburg, PA.. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren.
