It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl Ray Detwiler of Hustontown, Pennsylvania, born in Harrisonville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on August 18, 2021, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Detwiler and Merna Detwiler (Hann); and his sister Jane Y. Martz. He is survived by: his wife Gayle Y. Detwiler of Hustontown, PA; his children, Brad David Detwiler of Baltimore, MD and Crystal Renee; his grandchildren, Hannah Grace Detwiler, Payton Elizabeth Abbott and Mallory Hope Detwiler; and his siblings, Radna L. Koontz of Harrisonville, PA, Eileen K. McQuait of Chambersburg, PA, Nancy M. Fegan of Chambersburg, PA and Carol A. Brown of Hustontown, PA..
As a teenager and young adult, his mentors, Brown and Donnie Miller, taught him the foundation of his mechanical skills which led him to own and operate Detwiler's Auto Repair and Towing in Hustontown, PA.
