It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vince Buonaccorsi of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, born in Buffalo, New York, who passed away on June 30, 2022, at the age of 50, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his parents, William Thomas Buonaccorsi and Janice Patricia Buonaccorsi (Holland); his wife Kristin M. Caruso; his children, Andrew Buonaccorsi of Huntingdon, James Buonaccorsi of Huntingdon and Grace Buonaccorsi of Huntingdon; his siblings, Ann Hawley (Marc) of Quincy, MA, Claire Coble (Lloyd) of Horseheads, NY, Maria Royals (Stewart) of Arnold, MD, Lisa Kelly (James) of South Bend, IN, Bill Buonaccorsi (Laurie) of Gambrills, MD, Peter Buonaccorsi of Cary, NC and Debra Buonaccorsi McWilliams (Steve) of Ellicott City, MD; and his brother-in-law Stephen Caruso of Columbia, MD. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a deeply committed Professor of Biology with renowned contributions to marine biology, population genomics and bioinformatics. He transformed undergraduate education in genomics and bioinformatics through his innovative contributions to scholarship and research.
