He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Peters and Esther Mae Peters (Wagner). He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Rinehart (David) of Red Lion, Susan Kauruter (David) of Alexandria and Elizabeth Sharpless (Matthew) of Huntingdon; his grandchildren, Abigail, Natalie Rinehart, Kelsie Eichelberger (Alex), Brandon, Ellie Kauruter, Jackson and Sydney Sharpless; and his brother Terry L. Peters (Nancy) of Vienna, VA..
