He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard C. "Buzz" Shope and Leota M. Shope (Wyerman); his sister Marsha Kemp; and his brother-in-law Kenneth Kyper. He is survived by: his wife Lisa J. Shade; his daughters, Tessa J. Brumbaugh (Todd) of Donation, Kimberly A. DeHart (Brandon) of Lexington, NC and Whitney M. Russler (Harry) of Shavers Creek; his grandchildren, Zackary "Zack" Eicher, Emma Eicher, Izabella "Izzy" Clapper, Braxton Clapper and Alice Russler; and his sisters, Yvonne Wilson (Stephen), Pam Kyper and Sylvia Byers (Max). He is also survived by six four-legged fur grandchildren.
