He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles W. Painter and A. Margaret Painter (Yohn); his sister-in-law Susan Atherton; and his pet Cinder. He is survived by: his wife Polly Atherton; his children, Darrell W. Painter (Wendy) of Altoona and Patricia A. Acord (Michael) of Lancaster; his granddaughters, Kaitlin Marie Skiles (David) of Lancaster, Amanda Margaret Painter of Altoona, Grace Elizabeth Acord of Lancaster and Zoe Ann Acord of Lancaster; his sister Janice D. Taylor of Huntingdon; and his brothers-in-law, Richard "Dick" Atherton (Barbara) and Gary Atherton (Carol).
