She was predeceased by: her parents, William C. Phillips and Essie W. Phillips (Tilley) of Alexandria; her son Christopher Shaffer; and her sister Jean Harshbarger (Phillips). She is survived by: her spouse Gene K. Shaffer; and her sons, Philip Shaffer (Elizabeth) and Stephen Shaffer (Janelle Honer) of Pahoa, HI.. She is also survived by seven nieces and nephews.
