He was predeceased by: his daughter Rachel Barkat. He is survived by: his spouse Lozena; his children, Julian Barkat (Lori), Sonia Barkat and Joshua Barkat; his grandchildren, Ava and Julian, Jr.; and his brothers, Samuel Barkat and Sabir Barkat. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
