He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Dower and Eva Dower (Day); and his siblings, Joseph, Daniel Dower and Doris Machamer.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Ann Dower; his sister Elizabeth "Betty" Lawson of Shenandoah, PA.; his children, Beth Ann Gearhart (William), Susan Simpson (late John) and Michael Dower (Susan); and his grandchildren, Megan Gearhart, Caitlin Rineer (Joel), Ryan Gearhart (Mollie), Eric Simpson (Elyse), Colin Dower, Devin Ippolito (Dante), Erin Simpson, Morgan Dower and Corey Dower. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.
