He was predeceased by: his parents, William Nevel and Lena Whitesell Nevel; his sister Pearl Nevel; his nephew Ronnie Nevel; and his son-in-law Woodrow "Sonny" Garvatt.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Nevel; his children, Brenda Garvatt of Keesville, NY, Annette Sauceda of Dallas, Clara Finan (Matthew) of Dushore, Frances Swiatek (Joseph) of Shickshinny and Donald Nevel, Jr. (Diane) of Shickshinny; and his brother Richard Nevel of New York. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
