He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Baum and Carolyn Baum; and his former wife Barbara Baum (Good). He is survived by: his wife Kathy Baum (Ringgold); his daughters, Diane Tylwalk (Nicholas) and Sarah Cummins; his sisters, Kathleen Keough and Mary Elizabeth Hamsher; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Tylwalk and Jeremiah Tylwalk.
