With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley R. Halbleib (Hummelstown, Pennsylvania), born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 26, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Franklin L. Smith, Sr. and Mary Alleman Smith; her husband Robert L. Halbleib, Sr.; and her brothers, Kenneth Smith and Frank Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Peggy Ann Hoover (late Walton B. Hoover, II) of Middletown and Robert L. "Jake" Halbleib, Jr. (Kathryn) of Lancaster; her grandchildren, Michele Moist, Bryan Hoover (Nikki), Mechelle Hoover, Robert L. Halbleib, III and Christopher Halbleib; and her sisters, Doris Kepner of Elizabethtown and Patricia Strine of Hershey. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc. (114 W Main St, Hummelstown, PA 17036). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens (845 Laurel Hill Rd, Columbia, PA 17512).
