She was predeceased by: her parents, John I. Wert and Elizabeth J. Nye Wert; her husband John W. Bonawitz; and her siblings, Wayne W. Wert, Charles C. Wert, Betty J. Cassel, Dorothy I. Lenker, Faye W. Wagner and Mary I. Fisher.
She is survived by: her sons, John W. Bonawitz, Jr. (Debra E.) of Harrisburg and Peter W. Bonawitz (Anne L.) of Hummelstown; her grandchildren, Michelle A. Stank (Zachary R.) of Harrisburg, John M. Bonawitz of Harrisburg and Kenneth C. Dixon of Denver, CO; and her great grandchildren, Jeremy and Amelia Stank. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Zion Lutheran Church of Union Deposit, 5 West Main Street, Hershey, PA 17033; or to Carolyn's House, 1701 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110; or to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, Inc., East Shore Shelter, 7790 Grayson, Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
