Samuel G. MacElwee Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Samuel G. MacElwee (Hummelstown, Pennsylvania), who passed away on April 22, 2025 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Samuel G. MacElwee to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his mother Sarah Ann Snyder Clare; and his wife Kay Carol Youtz MacElwee. He is survived by: his son Kent L. MacElwee (Lori Newman) of Los Angeles, CA; his sisters, Jacquelyn A. Wilson of Harrisburg and Joanne M. Slesser of Harrisburg; his sister-in-law Carolyn Berkebile; his grandchildren, Jeremy Buckley of Aberdeen, MD and Jordan Buckley Fuhrmeister (Justin) of Hawaii; his great grandchild Kestrel Kay Buckley; and his nieces and nephews, Kim McClurg Ewing, Laurie McClurg Crippen, Christine Slesser Justensen, Caryn Berkebile Borrell (Nick), Bruce McClurg, Jr., Mark Slesser and Caitlyn Borrell.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Grace United Methodist Church (433 E Main St, Hummelstown, PA 17036). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Hummelstown Cemetery (186 S Railroad St, Hummelstown, PA 17036).
In lieu of flowers, the family honors Sam's request that memorial contributions be sent to the Hummelstown Cemetery Association, 186 South Railroad Street, Hummelstown, PA 17036, or to Grace United Methodist Church, 433 East Main Street, Hummelstown, PA 17036.
