He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph William and Olive Martha Schaffer (Hammaker). He is survived by: his brothers, Donald and Dennis Schaffer; his wife Marjorie K. Schaffer (Bitterman); and his children, Mark Joseph Schaffer (Dawn) of Palmyra, Debra Linn Hefflefinger (Alan) of Mt. Joy and Nicole Lee Ogden (Steve) of Hummelstown. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
