He was predeceased by: his parents, Naomi Bittenbender and Truman Bittenbender; and his brother Denis. He is survived by: his wife Cassandra Updegraff Bittenbender (Sandy); and his siblings, Gail Fairchild, Bruce (Sue) and Jon (Patti).
