He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl W. Nelson, Jr. and Elizabeth Nelson; and his brother John Nelson (Elaine). He is survived by: his wife Nancy Nelson; his children, James T. Nelson, Jr. (Jodi) and Melissa M. Ward (Jason); his grandson Nicholas J. Ward; his siblings, Carl W. Nelson, III (Anne), Wayne Nelson (Jane) and Mary Nelson Kuznicki (Raymond); and his sister-in-law Peggy Ferguson Hughes (Michael). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
