She was predeceased by: her parents, Bruce D. Reese and Effie Pearl Reese (Poust); her sister Charlotte Reese; and her half-brother Oliver Avery. She is survived by: her husband Craig Shaffer of Hughesville; her son Samuel Shaffer (Alicia) of Hughesville; her siblings, Shirley Reese of Hughesville and David Reese (Chao Hua) of Hughesville; her sister-in-law Nancy Avery of Muncy; and her granddaughter Bethany Shaffer.
