She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Alvin Holmes and Laura Holmes (Fenstermaker); her husband Gerald D. "Sam" Shaner; her daughters, Gail Shaner of Hughesville and Susan Shaner (John Roberts) of Cockeysville; her brother Elwood Holmes (Mary) of Hughesville; her nephew Thomas Holmes; and her niece Christine Coffman.
