Ronald L. Shuey Obituary
Ronald L. "Ron" Shuey, Sr. 74, of Howard, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the UPMC Williamsport Hospital. Born on September 10, 1949, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late James and Betty (Reed) Shuey. On October 1, 2010, in Ohio, he married Bobbie Jo L. Cooper, who survives at home.
Ron attended Bald Eagle Area High School. He was of the Christian faith. He was a truck driver for HRI, retiring in 2015 after 33 years of service.
Ron loved being outdoors. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was a true junk food junkie. His favorite pastime after retiring was sitting on his deck, drinking a cold beer, smoking a cigarette, and listening to country music.
Ron is survived by his wife; son, Ronald L Shuey, Jr of Bellefonte; daughter, Tracy V. Shuey of Howard; step son, Hunter Cooper-Alters of Howard, and step daughter, Tiffany Davies and her husband, Travis, of Williamsport. He is also survived by one brother, James Shuey of Beech Creek; two sisters: Nancy Funk and her husband, Ralph, of Lamar and Margaret "Boots" Resides of Bellefonte; six grandchildren: Robbie, Brandon, Seth, Leon, Rosa, and Cherokee, and two great grandchildren: Cooper and Parker.
Along with his parents, Ron was preceded in death by one brother, John Shuey and one sister, Shirley "Lou" Spicer.
Following Ron's wishes, there will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life picnic will be held in the summer of 2024 and will be announced.
