He was predeceased by: his father Barry E.; and his brother Benjamin. He is survived by: his mother Mary E. Gates (McCartney); his wife Heather S. Berube; his children, Joseph B. Gates (Bridget Lutz) of Howard, Sara M. Reish (Derek Thomas) of Hawk Run, Emily K. Gates (Kaelyn Davis) of Howard and Sarah Mae Rogstad (Andrew) of Pensacola, FL.; his grandchildren, Aria Mae, Linkin, Landon, Owen and Elijah; and his sisters, Heather Williard and Rebecca Stiles. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Howard Christian Church (367 Walnut St, Howard, PA 16841). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
