He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gillingham and Louise Duncan Gillingham Zipko (John); and his wife Marjorie "Sis" Whitfield Chappel. He is survived by: his children, William Chappel (Brandy) of Washington, Ronald Chappel (Patti) of Meadow Lands and Stacey Chappel (Victor Petronka) of Houston; his grandsons, Ryan Chappel (Courtney), Richard Trybend (Breanna) and Colton Petronka; his great grandchildren, Hunter, Grayson, Hudson and Lincoln; and his sisters, Elaine Dodd of Lawrenceville, GA and Ruthann Minton (Ray) of Rochester Hills, MI. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd. (27 Cherry Ave, Houston, PA 15342). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
