He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold McCarty and Margaret McCarty (Skinner); his son Barry McCarty; and his siblings, Jack McCarty, Richard McCarty, Randy McCarty and Thomas McCarty.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene L. McCarty (Herring); his children, Terry McCarty (Lori) of Confluence, Shawn (Debri) of Friendsville and Jeffrey Milsap of McHenry, MD; his grandchildren, Michael McCarty (Anna), Megan McCarty, Brayden McCarty, Alexus McCarty, Noel Frerer, Camryn Pusley and Triston Pusley; his great grandchild Laurel McCarty; and his sister Linda Keith.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart association or St. Jude Children Hospital in his honor.
