He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Mitchell and Mildred Mitchell; his wife Jean E. Mitchell (McElroy); his grandson Zachary Harwood; and his siblings, Jack, Jerry, James, Joe Paul Mitchell and Marla Rae Morrison.
He is survived by: his children, Jay Mitchell of Rices Landing, Charles Mitchell of Anchorage Alaska, Leigh Ann Hixon of Smithfield and Robert Mitchell of Hopwood; his grandchildren, Kane, Sheena, Robert, Bradley, Amy Mitchell, Josh Lovis and Chloe Pattison; and his great grandchildren, Jacob Lovis and Myla Pattison.
