It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jennie A. Metro of Hopewell, Pennsylvania, born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 29, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Moses Joseph and Kazia Joseph (Jabour); her husband Robert Metro; her children-in-law, Ed Sungala, Robert Serych, Sr. and Suzanne P. Metro; and her siblings, Joseph M. Joseph, Frank Joseph, James Joseph, George P. Joseph, Mary Ginand, Lama David, Helen Bergandy, Rose Sarkis and Georgette Zimmerman.
She is survived by: her children, Barbara A. Serych, James J. Metro and Mary Sungala; her grandchildren, Dr. Robert Jr. Serych (Melissa), Jennifer Ausman (David), Kevin Serych, Beth A. Roeper (Keith), Christie Liadis (Nick), Christine Sungala (Dan), John Sungala (Loni) and Dan Sungala (Melissa); her great grandchildren, Luke, Liliana, Livia, Andrew, Jordyn, Brooklyn and Cheyanna; her nieces, Veronica Short, June Marie Sarkis, Cheryl Zorn and Nancy Joseph; her nephew Mike Zimmerman; and her friends, Anthony Cercone and Leah Piroli. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
