The passing of Carmella (Mowad) Girata of Hopewell, Pennsylvania, born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on October 31, 2024 at the age of 96. She was predeceased by: her husband George Girata; her son Anthony Girata; her siblings, Amelia, Norman (Mary), John, Tom, Richard, Eugene, Joseph and Saiad Mowad; and her sister-in-law Judy Mowad.
She is survived by: her children, George Jr. Girata (Linda), Elaine Sloan (Skinner), Marina Rosatelli (Gary) and Ted Girata (Cathy); her daughter-in-law Leslie Girata; her grandchildren, Bryan (Jamie), Brandi (Jamie), Gary Jr. (Ashley), Gregory (Alison), Blake, Chad (Katie), Vanessa, Victoria, Alexis, Ariana and Alex; her great grandchildren, Jacob, Gabriella, Jackson, Gia, Stella, Lena and Mila; her siblings, Edward Mowad and Vivian Godich; and her sisters-in-law, Mildred, Janice, Barbara, Gerry and Sally Mowad. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Tatalovich Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. - Aliquippa (2205 McMinn St, Aliquippa, PA 15001). A prayer was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 9:30 AM at the Tatalovich Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. (2205 McMinn St, Aliquippa, PA 15001). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Titus Catholic Church (952 Franklin Ave, Aliquippa, PA 15001).
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be sent in Carmella's name to St. Jude Children's Research or ALS.
