We are sad to announce that on December 12, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Alma Bates of Hopewell, Pennsylvania, born in Hamilton, Ontario. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur White and Halda White; her husband Earl Martin Bates; and her siblings, Maxwell, Stanley White and Laura White Maloney.
She is survived by: her children, Daryl Bates Stawartz (Thomas), Marsha Bates Krakoff (Peter), John Mathew Bates (late Patricia) and Earl "Izzy" Francis Bates; her sister Halda Hancock; and her grandchildren, Justine Ehntholt (Shea), Tess Krakoff, Earl Matthew Bates (Jenna) and Joseph Barnabi.
She was the best mom and a guiding light to our family, and many others, as a den mother, girl scout leader, care provider, confidant, flea marketer, artist, poet, two-pandemic survivor, and nature enthusiast.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Villa, Baden, Pa.
