He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin H. Schell and Mary Hilda Houser Schell; his wife Margaret M. Schell; and his children, Thomas E. Schell, Kathleen Schell and Nancy I. Holmes.
He is survived by: his sons, John J. (Kathy Schell) of Manassas, VA, Michael H. (Linda L. Schell) of Columbia, Jeffrey J. (Wendy J. Schell) of Bloomington, IL and James N. Schell of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
