He was predeceased by: his parents, John Ralph Atkinson and Helen Tarkett Atkinson; his son Thomas Robert; and his sister Carol Irwin. He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Maggie" Heath Atkinson; his daughter Amy; his grandchildren, James (Taren) and Allyson Atkinson; his great grandchildren, Natalie and Maggie; his brother Gerald (Susan); and also Patricia. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
