He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerrit Vanderwell Sr. and Dorothy Barnes Panfili. He is survived by: his daughters, Deanna DeNoie (Roland) of Honesdale and Erica Murray (Bradly) of Honesdale; his close friend Irina Hendrickson of Honesdale; his siblings, Gerrit Vanderwell Jr. (Kathy) of Honesdale, Susan Vanderwell of North Carolina, Joanne Martin of Florida and Stacey Stack (Michael Montelione) of West Chester, PA; and his grandchildren, Gavin, Brayden Murray and Briana DeNoie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made to the donor's favorite charity in John's name.
