He was predeceased by: his parents, George Mitchell and Emma VanAmburgh Smith. He is survived by: his children, Robert Smith, Jerimiah Johnson, Adrian Johnson, Cory Johnson, D. J. Johnson, Angela Smith, Gwendolyn Johnson, Jasmine Johnson, Savannah Johnson and Kya Johnson; and his siblings, Ernest Tuthill, Debra Smith, Dorothy Pickard, Ardynne Higgs and Della Rodriguiz. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
