He was predeceased by: his wife Valerie J. LaVere; and his parents, Francis Jr. LaVere and Violet LaVere (Markussen). He is survived by: his sister Rayetta Peterson of Waymart; his daughter Michelle Lowery; his niece Michelle Peterson; his nephew Edward Peterson; and his stepchildren, Michael, Ryan Morgan, Katie, Lisa Morgan and Mary Ann Wilkenloh. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
