Carol A. Truxal Obituary
Carol A. Truxal, 80 of Lancaster, formerly of Conestoga passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Homestead Village. Born in Conestoga on March 27, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Jean Kilgore Kauffman. She was wife of Kenneth W. Miller who preceded her in death and Jacob Q. Truxal who survives and whom she married on May 1, 2008.
Carol graduated from Penn Manor High School. She had worked as housekeeping surpervisor for Willow Valley Lakes for over 22 years. Her and her first husband David Brubaker established the mobile home park on Main Street, Conestoga back in the 1970's.
Carol enjoyed cooking, cleaning, reading and loved to sing. She sang with the Willow Valley Choral Corral for several years. She was a member of the Lancaster Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Carol was a helpful and loving person and will be missed by her husband, Jay Truxal; sons, John D. Brubaker of Langhorne and David M., husband of Kim Brubaker of Huntington, PA; daughters, Debra A., wife of Dervin Miller of Lancaster, Chrissiann, wife of Steven Fair of Holtwood, Linda M., wife of Dennis Stewart of Nunnelly, TN, Julia S. Ryan of Mechanicsburg and Connie J. Brubaker of Lancaster. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; her sister, Gloria Pennypacker of East Petersburg and her brother, Ralph Terry, husband of Joyce Kauffman of Strasburg. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Ken and sisters, Kathy Shoff and Dorothy McFalls.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Carol's memorial service on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at 11AM from the Melanie B. Scheid Funeral Directors & Cremation Services, 3225 Main Street, Conestoga, PA. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 to 11AM. Please omit flowers, memorial remembrances may be made in Carol's memory to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
