He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Smeltz and Ethel Smeltz (Erb); his wife Anna Mae Smeltz; his daughter Carrie Adams; and his siblings, Mary Kipphorn, Roy Smeltz and Dale Smeltz Sr.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
