He was predeceased by: his parents, Parke G. Hassel and Elva L. Hassel (Homsher); his son Douglas Wayne Hassel; and his sister Janet. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Ann Hassel (Young); his daughter Donna M. Hassel; his close friend Michael Reynolds; his daughter-in-law Jessica Hassel; his grandsons, Douglas Robert (Marah Hassel) and Gerald Scott Hassel; his great grandchild Winslow Elaine Hassel; and his brother Kenneth (Wanda Hassel).
