He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen E. Newkirk and Virginia E. Valiton of Bedford; his grandparents, Robert and Mary Newkirk; his brother John Glenn Kovalchik; his stepfather Mike Lefler; and his uncle John Valiton.
He is survived by: his sons, Gavin Daugherty of New Paris, Bryson Newkirk of Hollidaysburg and Clayden Newkirk of Hollidaysburg; his sisters, Michelle Hess (late Brian) of Bedford and Kayla Redding (Michael) of Oakland, NE; and his grandmother Constance Valiton (late William) of Schellsburg. He is also survived by his sons, mom, sisters, and grandmother are four nieces, one nephew, three aunts, an uncle, and numerous cousins.
